November 6, 2008 - Redistricting Initiative Before the Supreme Court of Florida
Two citizen initiatives to change the way the Legislature draws legislative and congressional districts have collected enough signatures to trigger a review by the Supreme Court of Florida to determine if the proposals meet two requirements. One, the proposed constitutional amendments must each deal with one subject only. Two, the amendments must be fairly described by their ballot titles and summaries. The Court also reviews companion fiscal impact statements for each proposal, which were prepared by the state.
The argument took place at 9 am on November 6, 2008 and can be viewed here.
